Artist Statement:
John Conway’s practice primarily creates space for listening and reframing patient narratives through elevated and novel fine art modalities, including theatre, virtual reality, publication, printing, sculpture, film, public art, and various collaboratively produced mutli-disciplinary projects for gallery and other sites. This has included pioneering art works in various health fields including children's hospice care, oncology, acute peadiatric hospital settings, forensic mental health care settings, geriatrics, end of life care, and child sexual assault units.

A reflective essay and a primary artistic output from the first year of John Conway's artist in residence project in Naas General Hospital, Naas, Kildare, Ireland.
